something fishy!

It was hot and sunny here in Atlanta so I decided to spend the day at the Georgia Aquarium – and so did everybody else in the city. Hahaha. It was packed with both visitors and Atlantans.

A few trivia about the Georgia Aquarium:
  • Georgia Aquarium is the world's largest aquarium with more than 8.5 million US gallons (31,000 m³) of marine and fresh water housing more than 120,000 animals of 500 different species.
  •  The aquarium's notable specimens include four young whale sharks, four beluga whales, and four manta rays.
  • There are more than 61 miles of pipes and wires in the Georgia Aquarium. That’s just about the same as the entire length of I-285. Wow!
I wasn’t really planning on going to the Aquarium since I thought it would just be like the other aquariums I’ve been to. But my officemate Corey told me that I should go because it’s pretty cool – and I can say, it’s really cool! In my opinion, it’s the next best thing to SeaWorld in Orlando. Oh wait, SeaWorld is considered a theme park so that makes Georgia Aquarium the best aquarium I’ve been to! Ha-ha. I also went to the Dolphin Tales Show and it was really good – a spectacular show of music, light and dolphins. I was just really amazed of how Dolphins are very smart creatures – the timing is perfect; the dolphins show up on the exact spot the light is on. Normally, dolphin shows are held on a well-lit pool, but this one is held in a very dark auditorium and the dolphins have to be on the exact spot at a particular time – to go with the light effects. In short, I was simply amazed just like the kid sitting behind me. Hahaha.

Just some pictures of my visit to the aquarium. I didn't get many good shots, I think I lack practice.

Can you see the snake? The albino alligator seems bored. haha

In fairness, there are a lot more jelly fish in Manila Oceanpark. Although, GA have the upside down jellies (sorry, no pictures)

the aquarium is ENORMOUS! And so are the sharks and the manta rays!!!

Hip Penguins sporting their colorful bands.hahaha
See how HUGE is the aquarium and it's residents!!!

Waiting for Forever

Synopsis:
Who decides what is normal? A unique love story about friendship and a view of the world from different perspectives, WAITING FOR FOREVER explores the connections people make in the face of life's changes. Best friends while they were growing up, Emma (Rachel Bilson) and Will (Tom Sturridge) lost touch a long time ago-as far as she knows. To Will, Emma never stopped being the most important person in his life. Believing them to be forever linked, he goes wherever she goes. Will doesn't have a home, a car, or a "real" job. He survives on his talent as a juggler and entertainer-talents honed through years of showing off for Emma. When her father gets sick, Emma returns to their hometown, trying to leave behind her complicated love life and failing career as a TV actress. As its characters face love, death and their own preconceptions.

they look cute together, don't you think?
He wears this outfit ALL the time - Pajamas!

This is a really good movie to watch. But let me warn you, it gets too emotional towards the end – I cried a bucket of tears watching this movie!!! I like how Will remembers everything about their childhood vividly – and he shared all this to Emma on that day he decided to talk to her and they take a walk down on memory lane, after stalking her for years! Can you believe it? He’s been going wherever she’s going, and he feels happy and satisfied even if he didn’t get the sight of her - and she doesn't even recognize him! Just simply knowing they are on the same location, that’s enough. He's view on life is simple and uncomplicated - which other people think is abnormal. His brother thinks he has a disease or something. Well, if Obsession is a disease then he certainly is sick. Emma is the love of her life and is a big anchor on Will’s life, it’s like everything on Will’s life is influenced by Emma. The part I like the most is that the reason that he became a street entertainer is because ever since they were young, he likes showing off to Emma. And this leads him to take it as a full time job as an entertainer because every time He performs, it is like he is still showing of for Her – isn’t that the sweetest thing?! The friend - turned stalker - turned lover. Hahaha. When you put it this way, it sounds unrealistic, but hey, that’s why they make it into movies!

Another thing that makes this movie a great one is the soundtrack. Particularly the closing song. I soo love it!

Things I love to have...

I’ve always been a Gadget Girl. I used to have the latest cellphone back in High School and College. But ever since I started working and earning my own money - I think I mellowed down (a bit!). But I don’t think anybody would ever believe that except me! Anyway, it’s my hard-earned money we're talking about so I have to right to think hard before buying anything new! I think my friend J would agree to it, I’ve been bugging her since the news that Iphone 4 was coming out… Yes, it took me months to finally convince myself to jump in to the Iphone Bandwagon. And I’m happy to have bought one! Now, I know what they meant when they say that  “There’s an app for that!”. At first, it can be very addicting/amazing to find all these apps that makes life easier!

Now, I want something bigger and better - yes, I want the IPAD 2. I’ve been thinking about getting one since it came out. But I’m still processing all the advantages of getting one. I sooo want it, but being my new frugal self - I have to really really think hard about it before I get one. hahaha. I need to convince myself that I NEED it.

Since I will be traveling more than I used to be in the past years, I’ve been thinking of getting a new camera. Yes, I do have an SLR already. But... It’s big and heavy for times when all you just need is a simple point and shoot camera. **excuses** My P&S camera is already old and outdated, but it still can take great pictures! But yeah, its outdated, and  I want something new and better like a Panasonic Lumix LX5! I haven’t put much thought into it yet and there might be better cameras in the market. So if you ever have another camera in mind please let me know!

Something Borrowed

Synopsis:

Rachel (Ginnifer Goodwin) is a talented attorney at a top New York law firm, a generous and loyal friend and, unhappily, still single…as her engaged best friend Darcy (Kate Hudson) is constantly reminding her. But after one drink too many at her 30th birthday party, perpetual good girl Rachel unexpectedly ends up in bed with the guy she’s had a crush on since law school, Dex (Colin Egglesfield), who just happens to be Darcy’s fiancĂ©. When Rachel and Darcy’s lifelong friendship collides with true love, it leads to unexpected complications and potentially explosive romantic revelations. Meanwhile, Ethan (John Krasinski), who has been Rachel’s constant confidante and sometimes conscience, has been harboring a secret of his own, and Marcus (Steve Howey), an irrepressible womanizer, can’t keep his mind out of the gutter or his hands off any girl within reach.

I’ve been waiting to see this movie since forever! It’s the first of the two-book series written by Emily Griffin. I fell in love with the books and then I discovered that their making a movie adaptation, that’s when I started to get really excited about it. And today, I was finally able to watch it and I am loving Dex more than ever!

Kate Hudson is just the perfect for the role of Darcy. You’ll gonna love her and hate her at the same time. I was surprised that Ethan’s character was very much present physically in the entire movie (since he was in London the whole time in the Book version), but hey, it turned out to be good! He is the person who throws the lines that would make you laugh out loud. Oh, I love that scene at the Hamptons when Ethan attempted to spill everyone’s secret by playing a game of beach badminton. At first, I doubted Ginnifer Goodwin for the role of Rachel, but after watching the movie, I think she did pretty good job. And of course, the actor who played Dex (Colin Egglesfield) is just so charming and hot and handsome! Well maybe you won’t see all that in the movie but he’s that great in the book! It’s like Luke Brandon (from Confessions of a Shopaholic) all over again. Almost always, the story is better in the book than the movie version since they have to cut the story short. But as for me, it’s always nice to see the movie after reading the book since you’ll get to see the characters in person particularly those characters you fell in love with.

Rachel’s dress caught my eye.
Their dance routine was awesome. Isn’t it cute to share a dance routine with your best friends? ^_^
He’s pretty handsome don’t you think?
This dress looks fab!
I so want to go to these pubs in NY!

Downtown Atlanta

When you're alone
And life is making you lonely,
You can always go downtown

Hello World!

Today, I find the urge to start blogging. I don’t know what caused this craziness. I just felt like I needed another place to store my photos and maybe random thoughts – because Facebook is overpopulated already. And besides, there’s a whole bunch of bloggers to follow on Tumblr! hahaha. Or maybe, I’m just dying of boredom that I need something else to work on. It could be a start of something new! *fingers crossed!*
